Some Days

Allison Nazarian Real Life

Some days….

…Some things don’t work.

…Nothing works.

…It doesn’t fit.

…Nothing fits.

…The to-dos make no sense.

…You can’t put it together. You need to take it all apart.

…The hope isn’t there.

…You’re drained.

…You’re confused.

…You’re ripped apart. Stunned. Cracked wide open.

…You’re not sure what you are. Or where you are going. Or why.

…You’re over it.

…You can’t get over it.

…It sneaks up on you.

…It hits you like a ton of bricks.

…They win.

…You lose.

…You don’t know.

…You know too much.

…You wish.

…You regret.

…You forget.

…You remember.

…You don’t want to remember.

…You wonder. You wander.

…You sigh. You hope. You sigh again.

…Yesterday is still haunting you.

…Tomorrow scares you.

…You want to trust.

…You try to trust.

…Your trust is violated.

…Faith is elusive.

…You can’t shake it.

…All you want is your bed. And your Mommy. And to be 4-years-old again.

…You feel old.

…You’re too young.

…You gained. You lost.

…You yelled. You laughed. You gasped. You asked. You answered.

…You dug deep. You held tight to those super-thin shreds of faith. You pushed through until it became tomorrow.

..And then…Something tiny happens to remind you. To help you change course. To right a wrong. To straighten what’s twisted. To reinforce what’s weak. To keep at it. To remember your “why.”

…You remember. You hear it. You know it. It comes softly but clearly: Everything is O.K.

O.K.
