Write Your Mess™ On Your Own
Hi, my name is Allison. I am a writer. And, like you, I have a mess.
I write about my mess.
Lots.
I think if you were to start writing about your mess (or write about it more than you currently do), great things could happen in your life.
I write about my mess for many reasons…writing about my mess allows me to:
- Vent (also known as get it off my chest, b*tch, moan, complain or spill my guts)
- Use my voice (the real one)
- Recognize and ignore my other voice (the mean one)
- Find peace
- Figure and sort all kinds of things out things out
- Listen to what my soul (or my intuition or my gut or something important on the inside) wants me to hear
- Share my real life with others and inspire them to do the same
- Focus on loving my mess, not on hiding, erasing, fixing or forgetting it
I’m thinking that you found this page because you’d like to do some or maybe even all of the same. That’s why I created the Write Your Mess™ On Your Own program. This is a six (6)-week course you experience at your own pace, in the comfort of your home or office (or wherever you are).
“I learned a lot from the “Mean Voice” exercise (which I sent to you) and those that followed, even unlocked some thoughts to describe why I want to write a couple of the books I have been making notes for.
Seriously, I’m just stunned…and really pleased. Well done, Miss.”
How It Works:
Once you register for this Write Your Mess™ On Your Own, you will immediately receive, in your email Inbox Week 1’s module. (in other words, your first lesson will be available immediately after you enroll.)
Each module, or session, will arrive in your Inbox at weekly intervals. You can move as quickly or slowly as you wish, and use the weekly pace as a guide (or not).
You don’t need to buy any new or fancy equipment to take part in this program, you just need to show up and be open.
I am ready. Let’s do this. I understand I will receive Lesson 1
and my four bonuses immediately!
Got Questions?
What will I be writing about in Write Your Mess™ On Your Own? Write Your Mess™ On Your Own is based on the idea that reality is more juicy, delicious and interesting than fiction. In this program, you will take the very real details, fears, insights, ideas and dreams of every-day life and transform them into writing (yours!) that inspires and moves.
I am a beginning writer, is this program for me. (Or, I am an experienced writer, is this program for me?)? Write Your Mess™ On Your Own is not about a specific level of writing or of writing experience. It is about looking at real life as the most basic and raw fodder for a kind of writing that anyone can start, continue with or re-start.
After these six weeks, you will have discovered new and amazing ways to use the tools you already have to create (or stick to) a writing practice, write more than you ever did before, figure out why you want to write (and why) and express the voice that will set you free.
Why is this something I want to share with you or that you’d benefit from experiencing? I believe that true connection between any of us comes from a place that is honest and true and, yes, real. The details will be different, but the places where are experiences and fears and dreams intersect will be the places we do find those connections. And we start right there, using what you already know and have in what may be a new and freeing and transformative way.
“As I read through the things I wrote again, I become more grateful for the simple encouragement and guidance
Allison supplied that allowed me to find truth I had no idea existed.
I could tell I was missing something and Write Your Mess helped me put my finger on it.”
YES! I am ready to Write My Mess™ NOW!
I understand I will receive Week 1′s lesson immediately upon my enrollment
So what exactly will we cover in Write Your Mess™ On Your Own ? My goal was to share this material and approach with you as if the two of us were sitting together in a coffee shop, sharing ideas, experiences and conversation in a way that exhilarates and moves both of us.
Together, we will cover your:
- True voice (the one you may have been trying to hide from or avoid)
- Mean Voice (that nasty pest inside your head)
- Very real fear and resistance to writing what you really need or want to write
- Questions like “What the heck do I write about?”
- Uncertainty of where or how to even start
- Feelings of being “stuck” in “blocked” as a writer — even if you are an experienced and/or longtime writer
Each weekly lesson contains:
- A full lesson presented to you in written format
- Audio downloads from Allison within the course, as well as bonus interviews and other goodies separate from the weekly lessons
- Suggested exercises and action steps to undertake in-between lessons, throughout the six weeks and beyond
- Writing prompts that will move you in ways you may not have been moved in a while (maybe never?)
- Inspirational quotes and suggestions for further reading
- Write Your Mess™ “Writing Pit Stops” that allow you to stop and take stock of where you are and where you’re headed
- And lots more!
YES! I am ready to Write My Mess™ NOW!
Who Am I & Why Would You Want To Do This With Me? This program gives me an opportunity to use and share my own personal experiences, discoveries and voice to, ultimately, help you unearth, uncover and unleash your own.
I have been told that I am honest, refreshing, inspiring and very real. Not only have I been told this, but I am starting to own it myself.
I’d like the same for you.
Through my book Love Your Mess™, I share my message with people all over the world, reminding them (or maybe telling them for the first time) that it is OK to be a mess and that there is nothing they cannot do, be, have or achieve despite and even because of their mess. Using what I call an anti-self-help approach, I speak, sell my book, consult and write about the beauty and amazingness that can come out of loving your mess.
About Me: I work with businesses and individuals in several ways, all related to writing and all related to either helping them sell their products/services or to developing their “real life writing” skills to make more money, find peace, inspire and/or vent. I have written two books on copywriting, Copywriting 101 for Small Businesses, Entrepreneurs, Coaches and Consultants and One Minute Copywriter (the latter is a bonus if you enroll in Write Your Mess On Your Own today!) and one book (so far) on real life, Love Your Mess™.
I train and mentor others who are building businesses, particularly work-from-home moms/mompreneurs, copywriters and those just starting out. I ghostwrite books, speeches, teleseminar sessions and coaching programs for consultants, entrepreneurs and leaders in areas such as real estate, personal development, business management and media. I hold a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, INC, Entrepreneur and Fortune Small Business. I write about the entrepreneurial life, the myths and realities of working from home, working moms, single parenthood and all of the things, people and stuff that make up real life.
So Here Is The Deal:
When you sign up, you will receive two emails almost immediately: a welcome/confirmation email and your Week 1 email. From that point on, you will receive emailed lessons weekly for six weeks. You will also receive immediate access to some bonus goodies.
“When I first started the Write Your Mess course, I really didn’t know what to expect. I was emotionally stuck waiting for the “perfect book” to spew through my fingers and onto the page. Try as I might, nothing seemed to be happening. Over Allison’s six lessons, I managed to connect with thoughts I didn’t know I had and gain insight into writing angles I hadn’t explored.”
And The Bonus Goodies:
As part of your enrollment in Write Your Mess On Your Own, you will receive the following bonuses:
- Bonus Audio 1: Writing As Therapy, my interview with Melanie Yost, a noted mental health professional, therapist and coach for entrepreneurs.
- Bonus Audio 2: Our Writing Thing, an unrehearsed, unscripted and kind-of unplanned audio recording of a conversation between myself and my best friend Elizabeth Potts Weinstein on how writing has changed our lives.
- Bonus Audio 3: The Miracles of Writing, A beautiful and insightful conversation between myself and writer, author and angel whisperer Amy Oscar on the miracles, messages and massive AHAs that can and do come from our writing practices and pursuits.
- Bonus 4: My book, One Minute Copywriter: Your own digital copy of my One Minute Copywriter book (the Write Your Mess program is NOT about copywriting or writing about your products and services so that you can make more money, but lots of you have told me you’d like to learn more….so start with this quick, to-the-point and enormously useful guide to writing copy like a pro! And by the way, this book is currently being sold for $35 on its own)
***I also strongly recommend, almost-but-not-quite-to-the-point-of-requiring, that you use my book, Love Your Mess, as a guide throughout the program. This book is a MUST-READ if you are taking part in Write Your Mess (well, even if you are not). When you enroll, you will have the option of adding the book (it will be mailed to you separately; it is not a digital version, but a physical book) to your order.***
Your total investment for the Write Your Mess program…
…for all six lessons, four bonuses (3 audio files and 1 digital book)
and immeasurable truth and mess??
$97.
Yes, $97.
What is the real value here? I could give you a “peace is priceless” explanation, which was one of my mantras during a particularly difficult time in my life (and one in which I really kicked up my writing), but I will let all of the above do the talking for me.
