The Business Stuff No One In Business Ever Told Me
I don’t know about you, but when I started out in my own business (or even before that when I started in my first string of jobs after college), I knew very little.
Scratch that….I knew next to nothing.
Worse, I thought I was super-smart and knew all I ever needed to know.
The Gift Of The Obvious
Earlier today (Saturday is a big thinking day for me!), this title came to me.
Then, later, I figured out what it actually meant.
And here is the point, simply:
We make stuff complicated. Way more complicated than it needs to be. And we get caught up in the complicatedness of it all, so much so, that the obvious often escapes us. Then in the best of situations, we realize or see or discover that the obvious was there all along.
Out Of My Comfort Zone And Into A Comfy Chair
Full disclosure (and it’s really no secret): I used to not like people very much.
For real.
Most of the people I have met in the past year or so can’t believe this.
They see me on twitter and Facebook and “out there” finding my voice and having epic adventures in everyday life. They see me happy and laughing and friendly and outgoing. And when I tell them I was a semi-friendly introvert, they just don’t believe it. (Notice my twitter bio: “wanna-be extrovert” — it’s the truth).
Lessons From Lily
Some of you may know that I write a weekly blog (“Truth Tuesday”) for CurrentMom.com.
This week’s is my most personal yet – maybe ever (if you can believe that!?).
It is about my Mom.
I hope you will read it here.

My Self-Help Revolution Ends (Or Starts?)….NOW
A friend who visited my home and office a few times last year would joke with me about the many (many, many) self-help and personal development books I had lining my shelves.
My friend was right. It was a lot. Much less than some people I know (who combine the book addiction with the CD addiction with the seminar addiction with the information product addicition….) but far more than the average.
I’m Only A Girl In A Silly Red Sheet
I wanted to write a love letter to 2009.
Because I loved all that was 2009. And 2009 loved me. And we were made for each other. And like a girl who can’t let go easily, I was sorry to see 2009 go.
I was going to title it “An Ode to 2009” (simple, yes). I was going to talk about my themes for 2009 (magic, clarity and peace) and for 2010 (patience, forgiveness and focus).
